CAPT. GLENN TUGADE RABADON, MEAM, PhDM

A Pilot. A Leader. An Entrepreneur. A Builder. A Filipino Philanthropist.

Capt. Glenn Tugade Rabadon, known to many simply as “GTR,” is a Filipino aviation professional, educator, entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist whose life has been defined by discipline, perseverance, leadership, and a relentless drive to build opportunities for others.^[1]

Born on November 27, 1984, and proudly from Pangasinan, GTR is now based in Manila. With more than 23 years of professional experience in aviation, he has built a career that extends far beyond the cockpit-into aviation education, management, entrepreneurship, agriculture, aquaculture, hospitality, consulting, and community development.^[2]

Yet behind the accomplishments, titles, and businesses is a man who remains grounded in what matters most:

He is a son. A brother. A father. And a friend to everyone.

And wherever life has taken him, people have given him names that speak not of his position, but of the relationships he has built.

In Indonesia, they call him “Bapak.”

In the Pacific, they call him “Brother.”

In the Gulf, they call him “My Friend.”

And to many, he is simply “Son.”

These names are not titles he earned from a position. They are names earned through trust, friendship, respect, and genuine human connection.^[3]

23 YEARS IN THE SKY - AND A LIFETIME OF AVIATION ​

For GTR, aviation is not merely a profession.

It is a way of life.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Aviation, Major in Flying, from Airlink International Aviation School, followed by a Master of Education in Aeronautical Management from the Philippine State College of Aeronautics.

He further pursued advanced studies and completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Management at Northwest Samar State University.^[4]

Over more than two decades in the industry, GTR has served in multiple aviation capacities, including:

• Flight Instructor
• Ground Instructor
• Simulator Instructor
• Crew Resource Management (CRM) Instructor

He also takes pride in being the first Filipino pilot to hold a Ground Instructor License with a CRM rating, as he describes his professional distinction.^[5]

His experience has given him a perspective that few aviation professionals possess - understanding aviation not only from the flight deck, but also from the classroom, simulator, training environment, and management table.

For GTR, every flight teaches the same fundamental lessons:

Preparation. Discipline. Responsibility. Leadership. And the courage to make the right decisions.

Those principles became the foundation of his life beyond aviation.^[6]

FROM PILOT TO ENTREPRENEUR ​

GTR’s journey did not stop when he left the cockpit.

He took the discipline and leadership learned in aviation and transformed them into a broader entrepreneurial vision.

He is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Sabb Aviation Group of Companies, where he continues to pursue his vision of strengthening aviation education, training, and opportunities for aspiring aviation professionals.^[7]

His entrepreneurial interests extend across multiple industries, including:

Among his ventures and investments are a cattle farm, Lapu-Lapu (Grouper) and Malaga (Spinefoot) farm, resort, restaurant and café, laundry shop, convenience store, and GTR Management and Consulting Firm.^[8]

His philosophy toward entrepreneurship is straightforward:

Do not simply build a business. Build something that creates value, creates opportunities, and creates a future.^[9]

A FILIPINO WHO BUILDS BRIDGES ​

GTR’s journey has taken him beyond the Philippines, allowing him to establish friendships and professional relationships across Asia, the Pacific, the Gulf, and other international communities.

But wherever he goes, he does not measure people by nationality, position, or social status.

He believes in treating people with respect, humility, and sincerity.

That is why in different parts of the world, he has become known by different names:

Bapak. Brother. Friend. Son.

Different words.

One meaning: connection.^[10]

FAMILY IS THE FOUNDATION ​

Behind every achievement is a family.

Before GTR became a pilot, CEO, educator, entrepreneur, or investor, he was-and remains-a son.

He is a brother who values loyalty, a father who understands responsibility, and a friend who believes that genuine relationships are among life’s greatest achievements.

His professional accomplishments may be visible to the public, but the values that sustain them were built much earlier - through family, sacrifice, hard work, and the determination to keep moving forward.^[11]

SUCCESS WITH PURPOSE ​

GTR believes that success carries a responsibility.

As a philanthropist and community-oriented entrepreneur, he believes that those who are given opportunities should also create opportunities for others.

His interest in education and aviation is closely connected to this belief.

He wants to see young people discover possibilities that they may never have imagined for themselves.

Because for GTR:

The greatest achievement is not how far you have gone. It is how many people you helped move forward with you.^[12]

A VOICE FOR PHILIPPINE AVIATION ​

GTR has also been a nominee of Aksyon Dapat Partylist as an aviation representative, reflecting his continued involvement and interest in the development of the Philippine aviation sector.

His professional journey has placed him in a position to understand many sides of the industry-from pilots and instructors to students, aviation schools, training, and the broader aviation community.

His continuing advocacy is rooted in a simple principle:

A stronger aviation industry begins with stronger people, stronger training, and greater opportunities.^[13]

THE GTR MINDSET ​

GTR lives by a philosophy that has guided his personal and professional journey:

“Success in life is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved.”

To him, success is not luck.

It is a decision. A decision to work when others stop. A decision to stand again after failure. A decision to take responsibility.
